Fun with Valentines

Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays because of the lovely cards and ideas that come from them for embellishing. All the frills the day allows are just my thing. Follow the pictures below to see some examples of different types of antique valentines followed by some I made last week for my three grandchildren. I loved playing and doing them and I think the kids will get a kick out of thinking of Grandma working with paper and glue for a change.

This first valentine is one I made for a CQMagOnline article in the current issue. Easy instructions are there as well.

  1. Hi Maureen! The ones you have made are too cute! Love the vintage and stitched ones too!

  2. You are one cool Grandma! I think the kids will love that you put their names on them...I hope someone remembers to keep them for them so when they are my age, they can remember you!

Valentine's Day is my favorite holiday too. I don't care what people say about card companies making up the holiday just to make money...Bah Humbug on that! I think love is worth celebrating! Plus, I love that all the stores decorate with pink and favorite colors!

  3. The Valentines you made are darling! And I love the vintage ones too.
